Re: [a/s] One More Try: Salt Air & Locks
I'm one of those who uses WD-40 for everything so maybe you should give it a
try. My DH is always telling people how I can fix "anything" with WD-40. In
some caees it is really miraculous.
I did really goof with the WD-40 though when I used it on the squeaky sway
bar and hitch (didn't know which was moaning and groaning after being out in
lots of rain for 2 months). It did stop the noise but when we got to the
storage lot after a 200+ mi trip we could not get the hitch tab (?) to
release the ball. It was a nightmare cuz it was raining, Tom was exhausted,
the lot would be locked up in just a few minutes and we had to leave the
trailer there--can't drive it to our house. Finally pulled the pins at the
car and managed to drive fwd w/o messing up the hitch jack. The wd-40 had
'melted' the grease, apparently. I know that WD-40 does not replace grease bu
t never thought about it liquifying the grease that was already in there.
PS. As you can see, I don't know the names for all these parts, being new to
trailering. DH means darling husband.
