[a/s] One More Try: Salt Air & Locks

The first posting on this garnered zilch, so I'm trying again!   :)


Given all the Airstreams down here in Sunny FLA, I'm sure many have 
experienced this problem, and may also have a cure.

Due to exposure to salt air, our '77 LandYacht's front door latch has 
completely corroded, to the point that it won't work at all. We're 
effectively locked out of our tin can (better than locked in, 
however!).

Can anyone recommend"

-- a way to open a frozen-shut-with-corrosion lock

-- where to find a replacement lock for a '77

-- how to prevent this in the future (i.e., are folks using some sort 
of corrosion fin, like an outboard engine has -- stuck someplace?)

Also, anyone interested in buying? We've just been too swmamped 
lately to enjoy her. New tires, electric brakes, water closet, fridge 
gas, electric winch, new sway bar hitch, everything works (except we 
can't get in!)...
