I'm not familiar with "overdrive".  I've only done gear shifting on
farm tractors, in autos, I've only driven automatic.

So is this what you are talking about?
Manual                        Automatic
1    =1st gear                1 =very low gear
2    =2nd gear                2=medium low gear
3    =3rd gear                
4    =4th gear                D=regular drive
5    =overdrive

If the truck were automatic and properly rated for the trailer,
should I put it in Drive, or "2"?
