RE: [VACList] waterheater decision

"As for affordable storage while your sailing, well I have some land
over in Blackshear that has room for a 22 foot Safari lawn ornament.
Look real good next to my 1954 speedboat that needs restored. Bobby
Valdosta, GA"

That '54 boat sounds fascinating...another fun project!

"Are you also selling your home when you go sailing? I had a beautiful
building put up for me by a company called Morton Buildings ....Tom"

You don't know how tempting that is to store this thing after we finish
it....but we plan to simplify our lives and unload everything that
doesn't have sentimental value, including the house and acreage before
we go cuz we just might stay a while if we can live on seafood we
catch!!! I've adjusted fine to parting with material things....just
more stuff to dust!!!

I'm an artist and I plan to earn some money doing watercolor paintings
and sell them right off the side of the boat when we are in port....or
thru local shops We have been investing and planning this for 30 years
now. Part of the "boat shopping" from an Airstream is the adventure of
living in it and traveling around for a while, too. It's important to
check out the market and compare when buying a $100,000+ boat...being at
the right place at the right time...and being mobile!!

We do hope that we will renovate this 22' to a point where it has some
value but I don't expect it to bring a fortune...just be a cheap way to
live for a while and more comfortable than motels. Our budget is $3000
and we have only put in $1000 and that includes the wood floor,
suv/trailer brakes and hitch. If we can get a water heater, A/C, and
the dc charger work done for about $1000, I will be happy. That leaves
enough for cabinets and cushions that I cut and upholster myself...and I
have done that before. I have a heavy duty sewing machine.

I got some great ideas while looking at some new Airstreams last week in
Atlanta for doing up the interior....that will be the fun part! We
saved the partitions and upper cabinets for patterns.....had to burn the
gaucho beds tho...nobody wanted them even for free!

The 6 gal idea is sounding fine and I appreciate the comments.
