Since your going to sell the trailer later just go with the 6 gallon water heater. 
If you want to splurge a little get the LP/Electric one. We use a 6 Gallon LP unit 
which is fine for the 4 of us, we usually don't run short of hot water. As for the 
weight it only weights about 38 pounds empty, of course with water it weights more, 
but you can drain it before towing to reduce weight. 
As for affordable storage while your sailing, well I have some land over in Blackshear 
that has room for a 22 foot Safari lawn ornament. Look real good next to my 1954 
speedboat that needs restored.
