I started cutting the floor away and I think the frame cross members 
that are located in conjunction with the side "studs" will be ok but I 
plan to brace at each of the other frame cross members just to be safe. 
I learned how to adjust the Skil saw depth and cut right over the steel 
with no sparks so far. A sheet metal man came by yesterday to give 
advice and said to just cut right down the middle of the bellypan "let 
it spill its guts", peeling back only as much as I need to, then 
re-rivet it back together - maybe with a long narrow patch of aluminum. 
Thought that cutting it all off and replacing it would be unnecessarily 
complicated and expensive and no big advantage to it anyway. So that's 
the plan so far.
