[VAC] Tires - 63 Bambi

Sharon,

Tires can be purchased at any of several thousand tire dealers across the
nation but my favorite source is SAM's Clubs. You won't find the tires you
need on the shelf but every SAM's Club has a special order catalog which
offers quality Goodyear, Goodrich, General, or Michelin tires at a great
price. If you know the type and size of tire needed, simply visit your
nearest SAM'S Club and order the tires you need. The tires will arrive in
approximately one week to ten days. The tires I have ordered in the past
have always been mold dated within several weeks of the date of arrival ----
in other words nice fresh tires, not old decaying merchandise from a dusty
warehouse.

I recently purchased a pair of 700 x 15" 8 ply-rated Goodyear Workhorse LT
bias ply tires nearly identical to originals installed at the factory for my
vintage Safari for $62.50 per tire. Your Bambi will use a smaller size. A
couple of years ago I bought a new set of six Goodyear Marathon radials for
a later model 34' A/S, also from SAM'S at about $65 per tire. I think they
are more expensive now but the savings over the price quoted by a local
Goodyear dealer at the time was very significant.......about a 35 - 40%
savings as I remember.
