I have to go along with Robert. In the automotive
world, "lower" gearing typically means a higher numerical gear ratio (4.1 to 1
is considered lower than 3.55 to 1). They also talk about greater torque
multiplication for the higher numerical ratio.(which is the whole point
here.)
There is a saying among mechanical engineers to
beware when electrical engineers tackle mechanical problems.
Nothing personal, you understand. I have enjoyed and
learned a lot from your e-mails. It is only fair that mechanical engineers
have a hard time with abstract electrical circuit diagrams.
