[VAC] Re: towing with vintage CARs

Jill,

I have a copy of Airstream's Handy Tow Vehicle Guide for '77/'78.

The El Camino for '77 with the 350 engine, 3.08 rear end, and the "cooling &
suspension option" was rated to tow 6000#.

The El Camino for '78 with the 305 engine, 2.77 rear end, and the "cooling &
suspension option" was rated to tow 5000#.

The trick is finding  one in excellent shape with the correct engine and
rear end, then beefing up the suspension and cooling.
