Just to add to Bill Scott's comments:

I have seen the Honda EU-1000 sale priced in the Phoenix area for around
$750.  There is a simple cable accessory that allows you to parallel two
of these, giving you nearly 2KW available, and it's still quiet.

How quiet?  If I run either of mine on the back side of the trailer, and
I'm sitting under the awning, I can't hear any noise.
