Marc, No hand pump system for the early 60's that I am aware of. Grandpa always kept a big old bicycle pump with him on trips as a backup for the 12V pump. I tried it once while winterizing. It will work in a pinch, but if the water is getting low you will do a lot of pumping. Scott Scheuermann
