Re: [VAC] help!!!

Hi Marlaine,

Here are two suggestions:
1 - Hill Kelly Dodge in Pensacola used to be the local
Airstream dealer. They have extensive experience
installing hitches, wiring, transmission oil coolers
and just about anything imaginable on Airstreams.
Phone number is 800-633-8591 or 904-476-9078.

The dealership is located at 6171 Pensacola Blvd
on state route 29. Pat Lassiter was Service Manager
last year. The RV Service Center is behind the Dodge
dealership. Just drive in past the car service area
as though you know what you're doing and go as far
to the back as you can. You'll see motor homes and
trailers near a separate shop building.

If I was in your shoes, I'd at least go in and browse
the parts department and say, "Hello" to any RVer who
is waiting for service. Learn what you can and try the
chairs in the customer ounge. Ask to watch a video
about trailer hitches. Make believe you don't know
a lot and want to learn all you can (and, oh yes, by the
way, maybe have your service done by their mechanics).
The name of the game is to get a feel for what it might
be like if you decided to do business there. Go back
another day with follow up questions. Be a visitor.

2 - Visit the Mystic Springs Airstream Park in
McDavid, Florida just north of Pensacola. There is
someone there all the time who can tell you when
the next rally will occur (usually every 3rd weekend
of the month). Phone number is 256-3280. Area code
used to be 904, but it was changed to 850 and may
have been changed again. Go to the park when a rally
is occurring. Ask the Rally Host if you can be their
guest for the day. Take your ice chest with snacks
and drinks. Bring a lawn chair for yourself. Be open
to invitations for any group meals (and ready to pay
your own way -- probably $5 or thereabouts).
