Re: [VAC] help!!!

Marlaine, for the hitch receiver, go to a hitch, or a RV store. They will
have (and be able to install) the stuff that you need. A place such as
Camping World will be familiar with your needs, some people on this list
don't like them, but for hitches they should be just fine. You will need to
have several things installed, they are:
hitch receiver,
ball mount with ball (show them your equalizer bars and let them know you
have a sway bar too, so that you get the correct mount).
brake control unit
wiring harness
transmission cooler
You will also need to supply them with the correct ball height, hopefully
you have an owners manual that will give this info, if not I'm sure that
someone on this list knows. It is unfortunate that your Yukon did not come
with the factory towing option. If it had, half of this stuff you would not
of had to bother with. Not all Yukons were created equal, you should check
with your dealer to see what the towing capacity of YOUR Yukon is. Give them
the VIN # and they should be able to get you the info. (It may be on the
window sticker if you still have it.) If the number is greater than the
weight of your LOADED trailer, you are in business, and you will not need
the transmission cooler that I mentioned above. If it is less, ask them
exactly was is needed to bring the truck up to the job of towing X number of
pounds. If you don't know the weight of your trailer, ask, someone here
should know!
