Re: [VAC] A new trailer

Richard, I haven't been on the VAC for some time but I have been back on for the
past few weeks. Here are my direct observations. Marcia and I own a '77 - 34'
International Sovereign, rear bath in great shape after I re-worked the electrical
system and many other chores of restoration one would expect of that vintage beast.
Everything except for the frame which has started to droop. Last week I ventured to
Dover Delaware where my brother lives. Above Dover in Symirna there is an Airstream
dealer. We went there and in the process of inquiring about professional frame fixing
we found and purchased a '89 Excella rear bed / mid bath 34', 3 axle for 20K. It has
everything we wanted and the over all construction appears to be better than the '77
version. We still might fix, sell or permanently place the '77 at a summer
location. As far as the Quality Control on the '89 your going to have to wait until
we've towed it and lived in it for a while to see if our initial observations are
real. We're really excited as we take delivery on the '89 next Friday.
If you really want to hear about the frame fix proposal you'll have to ask., Dave
and Marcia
