Some of the newer Airstreams have a problem maintaining an LP flame while  
under tow.  My 1999 had this common "flame out" problem and I had it  addressed 
while still under warranty.  The factory built an aluminum shield  about six 
inches high in front of the burner.  
 
Another fix is to use a "cut to fit" furnace filter (I got mine at Home  
Depot)  It is about 3/8 in. thick and looks to be made from compressed  plastic 
strings.  I use it behind the refrigerator access compartment door  while 
towing.  Never had a flame out while using it, even before the  Airstream installed 
"shield".
