[A/S] Re: 12 Volt Amp Limit?



Ist is never wise to load any source for power to more than 80 
percent continuous.

To do so, causes excessive heat, inefficiency, and is tough on engine 
driven generators.

Converters, also have the same type of "practical" limitations. 

Running anything at 100 percent of rating, eventually leads to 
expensive repair bills.

The same is true of wire. If the wire is rated at 25 amps DC, then 
limiting it to 20 amps, will let the wire be cooler, and certainly 
reduce the voltage drop.

The hotter the wire, the greater the resistance, the greater the 
voltage drop at a given current flow.
