Muy Interesante. Does that include the diesel engined models viz
gassers? I've been told that the diesel engine is anywhere from 400
to 800 pounds heavier (depending on the version of story you listen
to) but have not investigated deeply.
Options can change a lot of other stuff

Not to mention the load carrying capacity. Duallys (in the 2000
model year) have a 450# (IIRC) lower load rating. I presume that is
due to the extra weight of the additional wheels and "deep dish"
front hubs et. al. The rear GAWR goes up, but the overall GVWR and
presumably GCWR stay the same. Assuming the GCWR doesn't change
that means that a dually looses an equivalent amount of weight
capacity for the trailer, as well.
Also those dually fenders jump out and try to destroy phone poles
and stuff, usally to their own detriment. ;^)>

Go figure!
