Hi Verna,
We have a 1998 34' Front Kitchen. We purchased it used in 2000, and it had a
"buckle" in the lower street side just in front of the wheel well. The
buckle is enough to cause the trim between the lower side panel and the
belly pan to stand off about 3/8" from the panel and is about 2 feet in
total length. I ended up filling the gap with calk, and it has stayed the
same size sense we purchased the trailer. We also have a crack about 6" long
that emanates from the upper right corner of the front door. The crack goes
up and slightly toward the front of the trailer. My dealer stop drilled the
crack, and put a rivet in the hole at the end of the crack. The crack has
doubled in length sense the stop drilling job, but I just keep putting the
clear sealer the dealer gave me on the crack. I have not detected any
leaking around the crack, so have not spent a lot of time trying to repair
it. It too is a stress crack caused by the stresses set up when the long
trailer goes over uneven ground or bumps.
If you come up with a good fix for this "stress warpage" in your 34'
trailer, let me know how to go about taking care of mine. We have put
60,000+ miles on our trailer, so this is not a huge problem, but it would be
nice to not have the problem.
