Dick, we'll probably be getting the Chevy/GMC with the Duramax/Allison, too -- a 1-ton
w/duallies because we also want to carry a slide-in truck camper. Our only question is
how much of a drop receiver are we going to need in order to tow an Airstream?

Yes, we tow the Streamer, �?~75 Sovereign center bath, with a gas 2001 Chevy dually. In
the past, we have towed it and other cattle trailers with non-duallies, and the superior
handling has always impressed us. As for the height of the receiver, ours measures 18½
to the bottom of the receiver; we have a 12-inch drop hitch. Your slide-in with the A/S
will cause the truck to squat more, also it will depend on the size of the tires you get
with it. Ours rig was set up by Trailer King in Poughkeepsie NY, they have always done us
right. As for the max trailer weight, that will depend on engine, trans, etc. I do have a
copy of �?oTrailer Life�?� towing guide around here somewhere. Let me know what the truck
has in it and I will look it up. I know that our year has a recall on cables that hold
the gate up along with the anti-lock brake sensors, the second front set are starting to
act up AGAIN. The one think that makes us crazy is the passenger mirror is the wrong
shape. It making it hard to see small cars, stumps, and curbs. Yes, when I parallel park,
I do tend to run up on the curb now and then. I just forget that my hips are bigger then
I think with the dually.
