Re: [A/S] Suburban as tow behicle

Hi guys,

I have a 96 Suburban, 4x4, 3/4 ton with the 454, with
the 4:10 (or 4:11 humph) gears, and LOVE it. I looked
a long time for it, because it had exactally what I
wanted. Bought it used, cheap.

I have a 71 - 23 and an 84 - 26. With the 3/4 most of
the time I don't hook up the torsion bars. I can drop
it on, hook up the chains and electrical, all in less
than a minute. I moved the electrical plug up by the
license plate, by removing one of the license plate
lights and enlarging the hole. Quick fast and easy.

I've towed the Rockies, the Sierras, Shasta in
northern Calif. the Oregon Pass, the 4th of July pass
in Oregon/Idaho, etc. with out any problems. Not
putzin either.

It has 130,000 miles on it. If I get energetic, I may
pull out the transmission because I found a company
that makes a lower ratio first and second gear for
them. I just kind of want a little more whip off the
line, but not lose my 4th gear ratio.

All this with 5 kids, 5 stuffed animals the same size
as the kids, drinks, toys, I think you get the idea...
