It depends!! Our 1998 Suburban, 3/4 ton 2500, had the 7.4L Vortec 454
engine.  It towed our 34' with no problems.  It was a very comfortable tow
vehicle.  And yes, it liked gasoline.  The 43 gallon tank hurt!
