[A/S] Re: Miswired F250 to '69 Sovereign
Hey guys,
This web site has a picture, and lists all the wire
colors from all the various auto manufactures.
http://www.farmco.com/technical%20bulletins/trailers/7%20pole.html
BUT, I believe your problem may not be the tow
vehicle, unless after you plugged in your trailer, and
it did blow fuses.
The 60's Airstreams swapped 2 or 3 of the wires. They
used theh center pin for the breaks, not for back-up
lights.
They also swapped the 12v+ hot wire for something
else, pollibly the ground. I am still looking for my
old wiring schematic. Had the same problem with my
1965 - 20" and my 1984 - 26'.
My I suggest replacing the "fuses" with "auto reset
circuit breakers". You can get them at Wal-M or any
car parts store, in the auto fuse section.
That way when ever you plug in a trailer, and there is
a short of any kind, the circuit breakers kick in, and
you don;t have to keep looking for fuses.
Wal-M also has the LED test plug.
