I did this.  It bent the down tube and cost me a power jack.  I had to use a 
jacksall to get the tube retracted, and then again to get the trailer off 
the truck at home, then order a new power jack because the bent tube is now 
up inside the outer sleeve, and won't come back out.  Oh well, I wanted a 3K 
pound one anyway.  It is on my checklist now - 13) ensure power jack 
retracted all the way.
