         We had a similar problem, in that the heater would light only if 
the water was cold, and sometimes would not re-ignite.  We asked an RV 
dealer in Sioux Falls SD, who asked his shop guy.  The shop guy said it was 
probably a bad thermostat, and that this thermostat was mounted under the 
styro-foam that encases the tank; so, it would be something of a bear for a 
do-it-yourself job, involving removing the tank.
         However:  when we were in Jackson Center about a month later, we 
put that on the list of things to fix, with the same description supplied 
to them.  They replaced the control board (around $200; I don't know what 
else they may have done).  The unit works perfectly every time, now.
