[A/S] Re:GMC P/U Probs

**I wouldn't buy a used
diesel truck with any evidence of a goose-neck hitch having been installed.

Hope I don't sound too cranky this AM. ...dave**

LOL...ours has a goose neck and the tranny has been ab*used* you can bet!The
PO hauled tractors and a big dump trailer with it.
Yeah, we think that GMC will have to earn our biz back in the future. Hubby
thinks the new ones look too "plastic-y" for his taste. We don't like the
new Dodge looks-wise either, but the Cummins is a winner. We would upgrade
with a Banks system just for kicks. Our 63 A/S will feel like nothing behind
one..trailer , what trailer...oh yeah..there it is :)

We're looking for the *right truck* with an eye toward things like you
stated...goose neck hitch=lots of loads towed. Also we want a manual tranny,
at least 3/4 ton,8-ft bed, diesel,4x4, low miles, and the truck has to be
NEVER smoked in. That's a tall order and we've been looking for years.
Settled on the GMC because the price was right and it was a non-smoker
vehicle. I can tell if one has been smoked in from 5 feet away and that
smell can never be cleaned out no matter what. We've found great deals and
walked away because of the stench. I know....picky picky...but we want what
we want. Texas seems to be full of good deals, but we'll see when we get
there. I imagine cowboys smoking Marlboros and towing loads of pigs with
tandem trailers over bumpy farm roads in those trucks :) Gonna have to be
careful of swamped vehicles after the hurricanes too.

See any deals, pass 'em our way.

Not a trace of crankiness in site :) Enjoy what's left of your weekend.
