RE: [A/S] New to Airstreams & Must Haves from Camping World

I don't know if this is what you had in mind, but here goes my (likely
incomplete) list of items you will need or want to take with you: (It is a
modified version of one offered to its customers by Oasis RV in Tucson, one
of the best Airstream service facilities you are likely to find, in my
opinion and experience.)

I would be open to suggestions as to additions or any specific producs
(brand and model) that are particularly good. Perhaps we can post this list
somewhere for other newbies (or anyone else who might want a handy check
list).

Need items:
1.	Electrical adapters:
50 Amp male to 30 Amp female
15 Amp male to 30Amp female
2.	Toilet chemicals:
		I like RV trene
Also some Calgon water softener (liquid preferred) is useful
3.	Sewer hose

4.	Sewer adapters

5.	Fresh water (potable water) hose

6.	Bubble level or Torpedo level

7.	Butane lighter to light water heater and/or stove

8.	Tools:
7/8" open end wrench (or "Crescent" type adjustable) to fit propane gas
tank hose

9.	Electrical contact cleaner spray (for seven conductor "Umbilical Cord")

10.	Campground directory [Camping World has a pretty good price on
Woodall's - is likely even
cheaper from Woodall's.com on the net] Also AAA tour and camping books if
you are a AAA
	member (highly recommended)

11.	Cell phone. [Verizon has the best coverage nationwide - highly
recommended]

12.	Good tire gage [Be sure it will go up to 70 PSI. I like the Accutire
digital ones. Sears
	often has them on sale]

13.	Spare water filter cartridge if so equipped [If it isn't get one! The
Everpure RV filter
	is the BEST.]

Recommended items:
1.	First aid kit
Add your own favorite headache remedys and Neosporin antibiotic ointment
2.	Flashlight

3.	Cleaning equipment- broom, mop, sponges, pail soap, detergent, polish,
chamois

4.	Biodegradable toilet paper - The single ply Scott works well for me

5.	Clothes hangers. I like the plastic versions of the wire type you get
from the cleaners.
(Bungee cord with hooks to keep the hangers on the clothes bar while
traveling.

6.	Spare sewer hose and connector

7.	Spare hose washers

8.	30 Amp RV extension cord (Get the real rubber ones that stay pliable at
cooler
	temperatures

10.	Spare 12 Volt light bulbs

11.	Spare 12 Volt fuses

12.	Silicone spray

13.	WD 40 spray

14.	Spare hitch clips and pins(giant bobbi pins)

15.	Leveling blocks or boards

16.	Wheel chocks

17.	Outdoor door mat [Astro turf or polypropylene - which doesn't absorb
water]

18.	Indoor mat by the door

19.	Indoor mat by the galley sink

20.	Emergency Triangles and Flares

21.	Dustbuster rechargeable mini vacuum

22.	Battery alarm clock

23.	Baking soda and chlorine bleach to sanitize fresh water tank

23.	A couple of folding chairs.
