The 11" wc means:  if you were to take clear tubing and
form a large "U" and partly fill it with water then apply the
gas pressure from the regulator to one end while leaving
the other end of the tube open, the water should go down
5.5" on the input side and up 5.5" on the other side.  The
total displacement of the water is 5.5 + 5.5 = 11" of water
column displacement.  I have done this myself.  I now have
a gauge built into the outside refrigerator compartment.
Airstream installed such a pressure gauge at the factory
in the mid 1990s I think.

The Marshal regulator sells for about $45 at Camping
World if I'm remembering correctly.  They stop working
sometimes because they can get plugged up with the
stuff that is added to give the gas a strong order.  If the
regulator is located down by the bottom of your tanks
this is more likely to happen.  Consider relocating the
regulator to the top of the tanks.  Airstream sells a kit
to do this.  There are several other ways that a regulator
can fail and they usually only last about 8 to 10 years.

If your good with tools and understand the above, then
replacing the regulator is a simple job.  I prefer pipe dope
to the Teflon tape.  As always YMMV.  Good luck!
