Re: [A/S] old fashioned TV antenna hook up

Daisy,

In the '70s Airstream was still using the old flat 300
ohm twin lead for tv antenna lead in. And they used
a little 2 pin plug to make a nice neat connection
that you could easily unplug when traveling. If your
tv only has a round coax connector for an antenna
input you will need to get a balun to convert from
the flat twin lead to the more modern coax connector.
Radio Shack will have them also (should be about
$2). They may still have the old style 2 pin connector
also but they are getting hard to find. You might think
about getting a signal amplifier. Some of them have
screw type input connectors for the twin lead and
coax output. The old herring bone style antenna
did not have an amplifier but the newer bat wing
type does. An amplifier is a good idea. Cost about
$30 I think.
