Re: [A/S] Trailoring mirrors

I thought most major light truck manufacturers made a trailering mirror that
"pulls out" when you've got the A/S on, and pushes back in when you don't.
Short of that, I don't personally believe that most after market extension
mirrors give near enough visability. If you look at any semi bailing down
the interstate, you will see LARGE mirrors that enable the driver to see
down both sides of his trailer and out to the sides thereof. It ustawas that
light trucks could be purchased with "west coast style" mirrors. They are
like the semi's mirror but scaled to fit the light truck. I considered
putting them on the Suburban but opted for the McKesh mirror, which is
probably the best compromise. Any respectible RV dealer can supply McKesh.
They are easily removable and lock into position so that , if handled with
reasonable care, when removed, can be put back on in the same configuration
and will not need adjusting. "Yes dear, please get out in the rain and
adjust my mirrors. No you don't need a mallet"
Suggest you have a look at McKesh mirrors. It's what most Airstreamers use
that don't have the manufacturer's light truck mirror made for towing.
Here's looking back at you
