Steve the Atwood thermostat that I spoke of was so
cheap that it didn't even have a manual adjustment for
the anticipator!  It had a 4 degree swing so we would
be freezing then we would burn up.  That Hunter I
recommended made all the difference in the world. 
Like you I couldn't understand why Airstream would put
something so cheap in a $36K trailer.
