[A/S] Stranded in Port Aransas. Ideas ?
We have a 1977 Argosy motorhome with a newly rebuilt engine that we
just bought a few weeks ago. It runs fine, on the road, but when we
stop for the night, and either hook to shore power or use the
generator, it will not start the next morning. This happened the first
time last week, and we waited about 6 hours, with the generator
running, and then it started fine, no battery jump, etc. The motorhome
then sat in our yard for a week, then we left yesterday on another
short trip. Last night , we stopped, hooked to shore power, not using
the generator, and this morning, it will not start. The manual says
that when we are hooked to shore power, to keep the engine on
"accessory" to charge the battery. When we are on shore power, and the
ignition is NOT set to accessory, the lights inside do not work. When we
are driving , the gauge on the dash says that the battery is charging.
Anyone have any ideas what we should do, or what is wrong? The
batteries are all new.
