Randy - 
It sounds to me like your converter is either shut off
or disconnected, has a blown fuse or circuit breaker,
or is toast.  When hooked to shore power the converter
is what powers all your 12 volt lights and accessories
and charges your house batteries simultaneously.  If
the converter is out of the picture for some reason
you're running on the house batteries alone and by
setting your ignition to accessory you are also
running off your starting battery, until your
batteries are discharged.  When you run your generator
and/ or your engine you are charging the batteries up
again.  Check out your converter to see what is amiss.
