Re: [A/S] 1972 power converter is out
As others have mentioned good batteries are required for correct
operation of the converter. Otherwise damage to appliances and the
converter it's self will result.
One other item to remember when dealing with the converter as it was
installed in those years. There was no 110V socket located near the
converter to plug it into as they are today. The converter was hard
wired to the 110V circuit breaker box located on the roadside outside
wall. The wire was run along the belt line on the inside wall and behind
the cabinets etc.
One more than one occasion we found there was a failed connection about
1/2 way across the back wall that cut out the converter power. In these
cases it was necessary to run a new dedicated line from the converter
location to the 110V breaker box.
