         On my 1995, there are two metal petcocks between the tires, 
curbside, that drain the lines at the lowpoint.  If these are what you 
opened, then you just dumped shore water, and not your tank.
         There is, forward of that, a white plastic petcock that drains the 
fresh water tank, albeit rather slowly.  Without a water pump, you have 
little choice.  It is possible to drain more quickly, but that involves 
opening an access panel (large hex wrench) to get to the drain plug; I 
doubt you want to do that.
         Alternatively,why not just leave the water in there; it's not a 
problem so far as replacing the water pump.  If you decide to replace it 
yourself, you have to be careful as AS uses brass fittings, but the water 
pump has plastic threads.  Crossing them is a no-no.  No idea why they do 
such a silly thing, since Shur Flow sells plastic fittings with the added 
advantage of having finger-nuts on them.
