[A/S] Fresh Water Petcock Question

Hi Gang,

I'm heading down to Colorado Springs tomorrow and since my water pump seems 
to be belly up I decided to drain the 3/4 tank of fresh water I have onboard.

There are two petcocks on the fresh water tank.

I opened one and water ran out for about an hour... it just kept coming.

I checked the read out and still have 3/4 of a tank.

Where was that water coming from?  I assume since I'm hooked up to a water 
hose it was coming in and going right back out?

Can I drain the fresh water tank while hooked up to water? Will the other 
petcock drain it?
