[A/S] RE: Life of an Armstrong Air Conditioner - was need new A/C

I am in the process of seeing if I can re-invigorate the original 
Armstrong A/C on our 1979 Int'l Sov. 31' According to sources in the 
know, the starting capacitor and the starting relay are prime suspects, 
followed by the condenser. First two are easy and cheap; third isn't. I 
am inclined to throw $25 and a couple of hours at it before replacing 
the entire A/C.
I have the capacitor and relay out and will be picking up replacements 
next trip to town. I'll report back. BTW- the only hazardous part of 
this project (besides working on the roof) is handling the capacitor. 
Some of these can hold a charge for a long time and deliver quite a 
shock if not handled properly and discharged.
