[A/S] Life of an Armstrong Air Conditioner - was need new A/C

I have a 1979 with what I believe is the original Armstrong air
conditioner.

I know it won't last forever. Given the recent discussion here about
replacing air conditioners I was wondering if anyone knew how long it
might last or if I should consider myself lucky that it is still
working.

There is no way to tell how many hours are on the unit, but just from
wear and tear on the trailer itself I don't think anyone has used it
for full timing. Figure it's just gotten use every few weekends.

Since I live in the Cincinnati area, my plan was to take it to
Jackson Center to have a new one installed when that time comes.
Cost about $1,000? Any comments on their service work?

I could find a dealer a little closer that would be willing to tackle
the job, but I assume the factory will have everything they need and
be more familiar with an older trailer.
