Brad,

It is important to remember that most of the systems and appliances in an RV
have a useful life (even with very good care) of 25 years or so. This means
that a completely original '71 is due a lot of maintenance and replacements
under the best of circumstances. In 1999 (probably at the beginning of the
real Airstream boom) I bought a '76 26ft Caravanner for $6700, but the owner
had $5000 in receipts for work and replacements he had done at an Airstream
dealer in just the prior 4 years.
