Interesting, a 5 year warranty but you need to renew
it at more frequent intervals.  So what does the 5
year warranty mean?  Warranted to do what?  Sounds
like a dealer pack used by many auto dealers where
they sell you an add on coating on your auto that
lines their pockets with a lot of profit.  Especially
the fact that your cost will probably be more than the
original cost since that touch up work will probably
have a charge also.

Yes Walbernize is a wax type substance that will wear
out.  I do mine twice a year.  I think the best thing
you can do to preserve your finish is to wash your
trailer, Walbernize or wax it at least twice a year,
and get it under some type of covered storage to
minimize the UV and falling debris (birds, tree limbs,
hail etc). 

The jury is still out on the prefinished Alcoa
aluminum as to the longevity of the coating on it. 
There have been some failures on some of the new
trailers but at this point its not clear if its been a
defect in the coating due to a manufacturing problem,
an environmental issue, or potentially something
physically has damaged the skin which causes a breach
in the coating.

Maybe someone else knows something about this coating,
but my other fear would be some interaction of the
Permaplate finish with the Alcoa finish.
