I asked a local dealer (not selling dealer) what they recommended to
maintain the aluminum
and they recommended I have them coat it with some stuff called
Permaplate and get a five
year warranty. He quoted me 1900 dollars to do a 28 Classic. Says
the Walberize material is
not any good and needs to be done every couple of months like any
ordinary wax. Is this
anything different than all the other polymer or synthetic stuff
people tout or is this just a
scam? Anyone had this done? Seems like a whole lot of money for a
wax coating and they
said it needs to be "refreshed" every year. I'm suspicous, I guess.
Appreciate any info on this
stuff.
