Your old 300 ohm lead in after years of weather and travel should
be about shot.   They are not making very many antennas now
days with 300 ohm line.   You can not use any type of Balun to
pass the DC voltage needed for the amp at the top.
So just replace your lead in with 75 ohm coax  RG 59 or RG 6
should work well with years of good service.
