[A/S] Resale - restore or not?

Hi Guy,

If it was me, the first thing I'd do is print out this website:

http://www.vintageairstream.com/rr_topics_pricevscondition.hbtml

Next, locate the exact model of your 1974 and do the math to determine
the difference in price between "as found" and "average" condition.

Third, look at the definition of both conditions and identify exactly
which items need to be restored, repaired or replaced.

Fourth, go to "Table C" and figure out what the list will cost.

Lastly, do the math to determine if you have any chance of being able
to sell the 1974 for the "average" price.

This simple exercise can provide knowledgeable confidence in your
asking price -- as well as identify which "improvements" might be
financially beneficial to you.

None of us knows everything, but knowing what other Vintage Airstream
owners have learned can level the playing field when dealing with
buyers who need guidance (I'm trying to say this tactfully). <grin>
