That was in '97. When we did the trip again in 2001, the road had been 
repaired somewhat. I don't remember it being difficult then.

It was a section of the road from Anchorage to Tok, leaving Alaska.

On the 2001 trip, we took the Cassiar back so we could see the bears at 
Hyder. The Cassiar had its own problems, but nothing like the Alaska road I 
mentioned.
