         No, it was the welds, and (IIRC) some stree points.  Doug Showker 
used to show up at Top O'Georgia rallies (he is/was the "safety" 
representative for Reese, and is also a member of the Ga unit) with photos 
and physical examples - hitch parts that were showing cracks.  Some were 
scary to see.  And, Jim Moore, who does the Ga Unit safety inspections, 
found  one at the Ga state rally in 2003 (I think) that was almost 
completely separated from the rest of the platform.
         Inspect the whole thing, not just the bolt holes, and do check the 
bolt torques, too.
