RE: [A/S] Brake Controls

Hate to break some bad news, but the company that designed and sells the
BrakeSmart (MasterBrake), for whatever reasons, has folded.  They are local
to us in the DFW area and their demise was confirmed last evening.  A few of
the people involved are trying to regroup and form a new company.  It is a
real shame as there is NO doubt that the BrakeSmart was the absolute BEST
controller on the market.  They actually had a shot at providing GM the
technology to include as part of the towing package and could not even get
their act together enough for GM to seriously consider them.  If you can
find one of the controllers, they are still the best and hopefully, like the
Phoenix, the product will arise from the ashes. 

BTW, if you call, the company will act as though they are still in business
as they are not wanting to admit failure, but at a dinner last evening, the
rumor came up and one of their customers (had MasterBrake install the
BrakeSmart, ElecDraulic, Kodiak Brakes on a 34' Classic last year) indicated
that he had talked to the salesperson yesterday and the demise was
confirmed.
