Re: [A/S] Zip Dee awning question

Or silicone? It should be greatfor that application.

At Port O Call, I helped free the Zip Dee arms on a neighbors trailer. She
hadn't used her awning in a long while and the telescoping portion of the arms
had filled with dust/dirt and froze them. We had to take the arms off and use
a bigger hammer to free up the arms. CAUTION--if you remove the arms,
remember the awning tube is spring loaded and the end will fly around like a pin
wheel if the arm is removed! If you remove the arms, count the number of turns
of spring tension that is in the awning tube. You will need to pre-load the
spring when you replace the arms.
