The trouble is that this type (lateral arm) puts a *LOT* of stress on 
the mounting points. As strong as the Airstream is, I'm not sure it 
would be strong enough to hold that up.
The other type uses articulated arms, though I have never seen the 
ZipDee automatic awning.

Whenever I see the lateral arm awnings, I always think of the opening to 
the Flintstones, when they hook the tray to the side of the car, and it 
falls over :)
