         I once had a 23' 1972 Safari, single axle.  No problems, but I do 
hear that the dual axle is more stable.  They are also more convenient in 
case of a flat tire, since you don't have to replace it beside a busy 
interstate (as I once did; you'd think other RVers would be more 
considerate, but only the truckers bothered to change lanes for us, so we 
weren't blown around by the wind from their passing, and most of those only 
if I signaled them.  Go figure.)
