Re: [A/S] Urethane Foam Insulation

Some additions to Oliver's usual intelligent response:

Since I recently jolted my way over the Interstates from FL
to MA, I am reminded of the torture that everything in the
trailer is subjected to.

I had urea formaldahyde sprayed in the cavities of a 1740's
cape, and it made a huge difference in the heat loss. But 20
years later when the walls were opened up down to the timber
frame, the foam had shrunk and crumbled, and did not fill
all the cavities. I don't think you are allowed to use that
kind anymore because of health concerns over outgassing if
not applied exactly right.

In addition, I spent a lot of time working with Urethane
foam as a sculpture medium for theatrical sets and props. It
is very brittle, and had to be covered with something to
strengthen it. My thought is that it might well shake itself
into something resembling grated cheese pretty quickly.

Does anyone remember what the "clean room" AS renovator uses
  for insulation ?
