Here's what I would worry about: you might be able to tow with the
lighter vehicle. What happens if you decide that the trailer is too
small and want a larger one? Or if you find a deal on your dream
trailer, which happens to be newer and a bit heavier? You now have a
tow vehicle that is too light. If you'd bought a heavier tow rig to
start out with, you could still use it with a larger/heavier trailer.
I've pulled with a rig that was too light and with one heavy enough
that you couldn't feel the trailer. I'd go with heavy every time. I
want to enjoy the trip.
